Section Conclave

Brothers,

Do you want to have a great weekend of fun and brotherhood?  Do you want to be a part of a great event?  Do you want to be there as our section leadership gets chosen?  If you answered yes to any of those questions Section C-5A Conclave 2011 is for you!  For those of you who don’t know, Section Conclave is a weekend for our entire section to come together and have fun, eat great food, learn a little, watch a great show, and have an all-around great time.

A great reason alone to come would be our all-original show “As a Seed Dropped by the Sower” written by Golden Sun Lodge’s own Evan Reeder.  This show combines with our theme “Taking it Back Home” and really helps pull together what you may have learned in trainings throughout the day.

We will be doing our trading post a little differently this year.  We will have an on-line trading post to order t-shirts, fleeces, polos, and other apparel.   We will have very little in-stock at the event, extras can be ordered at the event with a small fee to cover shipping to your door.   As soon as the website is up we will forward you the address.

Please feel free to email me with any questions regarding Section C-5A Conclave 2011, Taking it Back Home.  Sign up with your lodge today!

September 9 – 11, 2011 at Camp Cornhusker is going to be a fantastic time!

Yours in Brotherhood

OA Opportunities-High Adventure Up North

Have you ever watched the Northern Lights dance across the sky over the Canadian Border? Carried a canoe a mile to see a spectacular waterfall? Worked to repair historic trails? Paddled forty miles in one day, seemingly chasing after a perfect sunset across countless still lakes?

This summer, take advantage of an opportunity to have experiences like these at the Order of the Arrow Wilderness Voyage or Canadian Odyssey at the Northern Tier High Adventure Bases in Minnesota and Ontario. On a two-week trek with one of these programs you can give service through trail building, make unforgettable memories, and canoe in beautiful remote country.

The service at the foundation of our Order acts as the cornerstone of this program. During your first week, you will work with your crew to repair and restore portage trails in the Superior National Forest or Quetico Provincial Park. This crew is composed of Arrowmen from around the country and led by two outstanding foremen trained in trail building, outdoor skills, and the Scouting and OA programs. During the second week you will embark on a voyage where you will explore pristine wilderness, make leadership decisions, and face up to the challenges of nature. The friendships and memories that you make in the North Woods will stand the test of time.

You can attend one of these two-week programs for only $200. Arrowmen must be between the ages of sixteen and twenty-one to attend. For applications and more information on the opportunities please visit adventure.oa-bsa.org.
